I’m all for winter weddings with romantic imagery of frost painted trees but the snow is aging me in a big way! Last night I was the wedding DJ at Breadsall Priory in Derbyshire for Kevin & Emma Doyle and whilst Derbyshire was free of the white stuff, Solihull was over a foot deep. Logistically this is a nightmare as, let’s face it, the general public lose the ability to drive in the winter.
Fortunately the snow had only gone as far north as Lichfield and progress after that was smooth. Kel and I arrived in good time and got ready for the bash. My equipment providers were coming from Nottingham and got to Breadsall Priory with no dramas whatsoever. The snow won’t stop Clarkey. Fact!
With Kevin being an Irish lad there was a large contingent from the Emerald Isle thus necessitating the 1am bar. Irish dancing entertainment came from Celtic Rhythm who did an amazing routine including the obligatory Riverdance and I was even forced to play Westlife and one point <hangs head in shame…> Apart from this Kevin & Emmas’ guests enjoyed a bunch of sing-a-long rock, 90’s dance classics and some pure R&B. What an amazing night.
It’s unlikely that I’ll blog again before Christmas so have a good one and keep your weather fingers crossed. Our next do is on 30th December in the Staffordshire Moorlands!!
