As I sit here in the Heart fm on-air studio doing Sunday Breakfast I can’t help thinking about last night and smiling.
Congratulations to Graeme and Vanessa Bradley who got married in Henley In Arden yesterday and celebrated at The Bluebell with the most lavish affair I have ever seen! It was a great honour to be their wedding DJ for the sort of bash I love – one where all convention goes firmly out of the window.
The list of performers and artists was as long as my arm and involved a burlesque performer, harpist, Spanish guitar player, belly dancer, saxophonist, walking table (yes – walking table!) and a few others I have forgotten already.
The reception and subsequent performances took place in the Bar and in a huge, opulent marquee behind the venue. The Bluebell has won awards for its food and you can see why. No guest went home hungry and the champagne flowed all night.
I take my hat off to Graeme and Vanessa for flying in the face of convention and doing it their own way though. Graeme in particular and I hope he won’t mind me sharing this, is a mature, professional person with a love for the Ibiza club scene. His musical demands included Ambient Trance and DJ Tiesto. Never in 20 something years have I seen a bride and groom lose it to ‘Café Del Mar’ by Energy 52 as a last song. Brilliant!
