For just over four years Dave has presented radio shows on the Midlands biggest station, Heart 100.7 Prior to this Dave hosted the Breakfast Show on sister station Galaxy 102.2. He also has experience of working radio markets in London, Yorkshire, Manchester, Bristol & Leicestershire.
It all started in 1986 when a 16 year old fresh faced brummy who had always had a love for music embarked on a DJ’ing career. “A couple of friends had set up a mobile disco and did some bar and club work too. I spent a few months watching and learning and eventually got my debut on the decks. It was sooo nerve racking, yet totally exhilarating! I decided I wanted to do it forever”.
From those first nervous steps over 20 years ago a promising career was flourishing and through DJing at many private functions such as weddings and birthday parties, Dave honed his live skills. The next logical step was radio. “One of my closest friends was a DJ on BRMB in Birmingham. He presented the evening show and needed someone to produce music mixes for him. From my now considerable experience in clubland I was able to help out. This gave me the experience and confidence to move into the radio industry”. Dave finally got his first break behind the mic in 1994 and hasn’t stopped since.
Working in radio goes hand in hand with live appearance work and Dave has graced all manner of stages. From smaller corporate functions presenting to a handful of clients to Clotheshow Live at the NEC, from numerous weddings in all types of hotels to Birmingham City Council’s Christmas lights switch on. “The experience I have gained has been worth its weight in gold. Radio and ‘gigs’ have taken Dave from Arizona to The Maldives, all around Europe and even as far as Coventry!
