I’m being sent to Coventry this weekend. Twice!

Tonight (2nd July 2010) I shall be the main stage host at The Godiva Festival, War Memorial Park, Coventry. The theme for tonight? It’s back to the 80′s and I’ll be introducing some absolute legends!

 Hazel O’Connor (backed by Coventry’s own Subterraneans), Kid Creole and the Coconuts, The Christians and Martin Fry from ABC are all on stage at the UK’s biggest free festival. Not only will be there be singing, dancing and live music but comedians and entertainers of local, national and international repute. The cost? It’s all FREE!! See you tonight. 

On Sunday morning I’ll be joining the ladies in pink for Cancer Research’s Race For Life at Stoneleigh Abbey near Coventry. Give me a wave as you cross the start/finish line and I’ll make sure I say hi on the mic.

Rock With Laughter 2010

It’s back and I for one can’t wait! Lenny Henry and a huge host of comedy and music stars will be back at the revamped LG Arena for the Rock With Laughter Show this December.

Joining Lenny will be a veritable cocktail of Christmas party spirits including Beverley Knight, Ed Byrne and Alan Carr. I can’t WAIT to meet Rolf Harris and I’m so gonna get a picture with him. Bjorn Again & Adrian Edmondson & The Bad Shepherds will be providing music as will  Slade. Well it’ll be CHRIIIIIIIIIIIISTMAAAAAAAAS after all!

I’ll be taking to the turntables to DJ at the exclusive Backstage Party. Bjorn Again will be doing a special set too and I can highly recommend this show. I DJ’ed it last year and it was the perfect Christmas Party experience. Dancing On Ice Live Tour 2010 (LG Arena Birmingham)

Well, what fun! On Friday night I took the guest-judge hot seat for the opening night in Birmingham of ‘Dancing On Ice – The Live Tour 2010′.  Despite being an Event Host in Birmingham I was still thrilled to sit alongside Biggins, Nicky, Karen and Kieron to lend my views to the contestants and pro skaters. Ok, so I’m a Wedding DJ, Broadcaster, Event Host etc and dancing isn’t really my thing but it was all in the name of fun and all my scores were high ones.

Glitz, glamour and sequins don’t even come close! It is the campest affair but great fun to watch. The professional skaters were a wow and the celebs weren’t too bad either with Hayley Tammadon, Chris Fountain, Ray Quinn, Gaynor Faye and loads more all taking part.

Hayley did her ‘Jai Ho’ routine and it was a straight 6 for me. And what a lovely girl she is, too!

 As far as the panel were concerned I was looked after by Nicky, cried with laughter at Biggins, developed a man crush on Kieron and gawped at Karen’s sexy red heels!!!

The best thing I’ve ever been asked? Kieron: “Have we played rugby together before?!” No, I was on the tour last year too but I’m gonna let you pretend that I played rugby at a high level!! ;o)

Dancing On Ice is go, go, go…!

As I previously mentioned here I am delighted to have been asked back to the Ice Panel for Dancing On Ice Live at the LG Arena, Birmingham. I can now confirm that on Friday 30th April 2010 I will be the guest judge for the 7.30 performance. It will be great to see you there and I promise all my scores will be good ones!!

It’s a really busy weekend for me as this date comes on the eve of wedding entertainment. I will be the wedding DJ in Sutton Coldfield for Emma & Martin on Saturday then it’s straight up to Oulton Park for round 3 of the 2010 British Superbike calendar, where I shall be representing both Honda and Bridgestone.

Phew! I’ll need to get back to Heart fm for a rest… ;o)

Aspire Awards 2010, ICC Birmingham

Last Wednesday evening it was my great pleasure to be an event host and aftershow party DJ for the West Midlands Fire Service Aspire Awards Ceremony at ICC Birmingham.

The great and the good were there including many senior fire officers, lord and lady mayor and mayoresses and distinguished business folk of the West Midlands. There were also many, many brave fire and rescue staff there to receive nominations and awards. I was honoured to present the award that recognised Sporting Achievements.

…Oh and yes, I was the only person rocking brown shoes! How common… ;o)

A few famous faces stopped by too including Britain’s Got Talent finalist Julian Smith who quite literally blew us away with a few tunes…

Thanks to all at West Midlands Fire Service. It was great to be involved with the Aspire Awards 2010 and we look forward to the event going from strength to strength.

Ah, it’s THAT time of year. Halloween and Fireworks night are now distant memories, Christmas is that bit too far away to be excited about, wedding season is over and all the motorbike racing is finished. What does a Birmingham DJ do now for fun?!

With a whole host of Christmas light switch-ons and plenty of Christmas Party DJ bookings coming up, not to mention a new regular club night at Oceana Birmingham; it’s time to chill out with the PS3. ‘Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2′ will have to do for now. Yeah baby!

No posts for a while as Mrs Clarke and I have only just returned from Italy, where we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with fine wine, food and the scenic backdrop of Lake Garda!

So it’s back to work on  my Afternoon Show on Heart 100.7 this week and just in time for Fireworks Night! I’m looking forward to being the compere for my sons’ school firework party on Friday night (6th November). The event is open to the public and I’ll play you a tune if you pop down!

Chapelfields School is on Lyndon Road in Solihull and the fun starts from 6pm this Thursday. Family tickets are available and for a few quid you can enjoy two professional firework displays, hot food and drinks, fun fair, plus the obligatory Tombola!

Bigging up the Dudley massive!

I took Kel and the boys over to the Black Country yesterday to enjoy the Dudley Festival Of Water & Light. What a great event! This is the third time that Heart has been invovled with this free Festival and each year keeps getting better, especially as the sun shone on the Waterfront.
