It doesn’t seem like 5 minutes ago that I posted about my involvement with The Dancing On Ice Live Tour 2010, but it’s nearly here! On Friday night I shall join the porfessional judges on the judging panel at the LG Arena and I CAN’T WAIT!!! It really is the best seat in the house to see stars like Hayley Tammadon, Chris Fountain and Ray Quinn doing their ice dance magic.

It's gonna be a 6.0 for Ray, I know it is!
Do give me a wave and hopefully I’ll get the marks right. Last year I did give Kieran Bracken a 5.5 when all the professional judges gave a 6.0. – ‘floor open up and swallow me’ didn’t come close!

Working in a radio station you get used to seeing famous people, infamous people and random people, but how about, erm, naked people?! Ivy and Graham, the naked couple from TV’s ’4 Weddings’ haves just popped into Heart and they were starkers! Well I say starkers but they were clad in paper bag type things to promote a charitable cause. Fortunate really as it spared all our blushes!

Ivy and Graham WITH clothes!
This got me thinking. Would you get married naked? Well apparently so because there are naked wedding planners on the net!!
I’d love to be your wedding DJ but please hire a DJ in Birmingham or beyond who will keep his clothes ON. I really don’t think your guests are ready for the alternative yet

I’m really looking forward to this weekend! On Saturday night I shall join Juliet and her guests to celebrate as Juliet’s 40th birthday party DJ in Birmingham.
It’ll be a great pleasure to head back to Pub Du Vin, too. Nestling under Hotel Du Vin in Birmingham the Pub has a great ambiance and is a real pleasure to play at. Juliet has been most insistent on a playlist of ‘up for it’ songs with Kings Of Leon, Animal Magnet and House Of Pain all mentioned. I think this is one 40th that could be very late and especially loud. CAN’T WAIT!!!
Get in touch to find out if I’m available for your 40th Birthday celebration by clicking here.

Who was it who uttered that immortal pearl of wisdom? I usually get my scares from fatherhood and motorcycle riding but tonight it is from good old fashioned DJing! Yes, 22 years of this and rarely do I admit to being nervous.
I’m about to go on stage and perform as a corporate DJ for a client at the Birmingham Metropole. Tonight is the annual awards ceremony for the Tile Association and I’ve been booked by a London agent. “Turn up”, they said, “it’ll all be ready for you”, they said. I’m here and no-one is ready for me! I don’t even think they knew I was coming!! Oh well, working with a different sound team will be a challenge and the Tile Massive seem quite up for it, so it could be fun.
I’ll let you know if I’ve survived it come 1am…

It’s every bride’s right to have their big day go exactly to plan and every groom’s duty to do as he is told. Not in every relationship though. Look who’s a little different…
Katy Perry has referred to her fiancé Russell Brand as a “total bridezilla”! – She said that he loves talking about their wedding plans and buys bridal magazines all the time… “He’s like a freak, man. You should see – he’s always, like, buying bride magazines. Every time we go out for breakfast he’s like, ‘Can we just stop and get a bride magazine?’”
Aw bless. See girls? Us blokes DO care!

On Saturday night I joined Nicola & Richard and their guests to celebrate their big day. For wedding DJs in Kidderminster this may be a regular sight but in 22 years of wedding DJ experience I have NEVER seen this before…
At one point, standing in reception of the hotel, their were 2 BRIDES chatting with each other!!!

Two brides together - it shouldn't happen!
I’m sure the ladies were just comparing notes but even so it was the strangest sight. Surely two brides together is the “Back To the Future” equivolent of Marty meeting his past self? Isn’t it like crossing the streams in ‘Ghostbusters’? I was just waiting for the Stay Puft marshmellow man to appear!
I’d love to handle your wedding entertainment (however many brides are in the building) so get in touch here.

What a hectic week! I’ve been covering Heart Breakfast for Ed & Rachel this week and what with 4.30am alarm calls and celeb interviews, I’ve had no time for my blog! I’d better put that right straight away…
This weekend I shall be joining Nicola & Richard to be their wedding DJ in Kidderminster. I’ll see you for a knees up if you’re coming! The couple seem like real fun as only folk who ask for ‘Pretty Green Eyes’ by Ultrabeat as a first dance can be!!

Right, must dash, Ricky Gervais is popping in for an interview now. I hate to drop names but… ;o)

That’s it, my weekend committments are over, time to munch chocolate eggs!
I wrapped up my wedding DJ committments for Easter at the Crowne Plaza, Solihull on Saturday night. Jayne and Stuart (now Mr and Mrs Taylor) and their guests partied into the small hours with a musical selection including Queen, The Jam, Michael Buble, The Proclaimers, 90′s dance, indie and a smattering of good old fashioned pop tunes! The start of the evening was very traditional too with a first dance and then dedications from bride to groom and vice versa. 3 slow numbers and then straight to business with Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’, as the couple are self confessed Queen-aholics.
The venue was delightfully dressed and looked fab with the big picture window looking out over the NEC’s Pendigo Lake. With the vista you could have been at any country park hotel yet only a short taxi ride home (and a stumble out of the taxi, of course!)
More next week as I host wedding entertainment in Kidderminster! In the meantime please click here to get in touch and find out if I’m available for your wedding.

Last night I was proud to provide wedding entertainment and DJ for Zoe & Andy Davies and their guests at the beautiful Ettington Park Hotel, near Stratford Upon Avon. Wow, what a venue! Being a wedding DJ at a venue with gilded ceilings and chandeliers is a real honour. Sumptuopus settees and quality furnishings were the perfect backdrop to our high quality light and sound show.
The highlight of the evening had to be the girls vs boys ‘dance off’, which was prompted by a rather smart, bespectacled guest doing a Beyonce booty-shake! Fun
Of course the guys won – but I am biased. I think the ‘dance off’ may become a regular fixture of our wedding disco!
I’m looking forward to seeing you for Stuart & Jaynes’ do tonight. If you’re at the Crowne Plaza, Solihull, prepare for a big one!!

One of the lines I hear all too often when planning wedding entertainment with a bride and groom is, ‘it’s not the done thing so we shouldn’t’. Argh! How many times a good first dance selection has been dropped because of etiquette. As I always say to brides – it’s your day – do it whichever way you want! And here’s someone who is…
“Katy Perry has chosen a wedding gown which will show off her toned stomach. She has reportedly opted for a less-than-conventional two-piece outfit to wear when she ties the knot with Russell Brand. A source said: “From the back, she wants to look like a traditional bride, with a very long train, but from the front, she wants a Vegas-style sequinned number with exposed skin.” I love it when brides don’t conform!
Your choice of first dance (heck, all the music!) is important to us. When looking for West Midlands wedding DJs you’ll find our service to be first class and maybe we can inspire you with a first dance idea?! Click here to get in touch.
