Happy summer holidays all!
We’re taking a break for a couple of weeks of sunshine. Although we’ll be checking messages every now and then, full service will not resume until Monday 16th August 2010. Enjoy your sun!

In the next couple of weeks my role at Heart 100.7 will be changing. I’m delighted to say that I’ll be in charge of Weekend Breakfast from July and you’ll find me on air between 8am and Midday at the weekend. I’ll still figure in the week too. I’ll be covering Heart Breakfast and Heart Drivetime as and when the guys are on holiday or off poorly.
This schedule change will give me a lot more time to concentrate on my personal commitments including wedding entertainment, general disco services and corporate event hosting. I’m also looking forward to a little more family and motorcycle time so let’s hope the sun keeps shining!
Please get in touch with any queries especially if you’re looking to hire a wedding DJ in Birmingham or an event host in the West Midlands.
Happy Bank Holiday weekend! I hope you’re managing to chillax a little and you’re not stuck in the car on the way to Weston-Super-Nightmare
It’s a busy one here at Clarkey towers. A 50th Birthday Party DJ in Birmingham last Saturday night, two radio shows and then I’m joining the wedding DJs in Solihull on Saturday night for Clare & James’ do. I know, work is good and I shouldn’t moan but I’m getting no quality motorbike time – and it’s summer! I guess I’ll have to console myself with a BBQ and a cheeky beer. Well it’s Bank Holiday and I’ve been stuck at work. Which is better than being stuck in a car on the way to…

As a wedding DJ I do get to see my fair share of beautiful women in white (ok, ivory or cream) but how about this for setting a trend?
Rachael Robinson, a 30-year-old primary school deputy headteacher, got married wearing a dress made of bubble wrap when she tied the knot with Duncan Turner.
As well as not costing her anything, anytime she got nervous during the ceremony she could pop a few bubbles to release the tension!
The dress used up 13ft of the packing material and was put together last month by pupils and parents at her school for a fashion show featuring recyclable materials. It comes complete with a 3ft bubble wrap train and finished off with white foam packaging material and Haribo sweets. Aw, bless!
I can’t help with the bubblewrap but hire a DJ in Birmingham or beyond for an amazing wedding party by clicking here!
Working in a radio station you get used to seeing famous people, infamous people and random people, but how about, erm, naked people?! Ivy and Graham, the naked couple from TV’s ’4 Weddings’ haves just popped into Heart and they were starkers! Well I say starkers but they were clad in paper bag type things to promote a charitable cause. Fortunate really as it spared all our blushes!
This got me thinking. Would you get married naked? Well apparently so because there are naked wedding planners on the net!!
I’d love to be your wedding DJ but please hire a DJ in Birmingham or beyond who will keep his clothes ON. I really don’t think your guests are ready for the alternative yet

That’s it, my weekend committments are over, time to munch chocolate eggs!
I wrapped up my wedding DJ committments for Easter at the Crowne Plaza, Solihull on Saturday night. Jayne and Stuart (now Mr and Mrs Taylor) and their guests partied into the small hours with a musical selection including Queen, The Jam, Michael Buble, The Proclaimers, 90′s dance, indie and a smattering of good old fashioned pop tunes! The start of the evening was very traditional too with a first dance and then dedications from bride to groom and vice versa. 3 slow numbers and then straight to business with Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’, as the couple are self confessed Queen-aholics.
The venue was delightfully dressed and looked fab with the big picture window looking out over the NEC’s Pendigo Lake. With the vista you could have been at any country park hotel yet only a short taxi ride home (and a stumble out of the taxi, of course!)
More next week as I host wedding entertainment in Kidderminster! In the meantime please click here to get in touch and find out if I’m available for your wedding.

Preparing for my Afternoon Show on Heart 100.7 look what I found! Looking to hire a DJ in Birmingham or The Midlands? Here’s an idea…
“A 69-year-old British granny has become the darling of the Paris party scene thanks to her impressive DJ skills. Ruth Flowers, says she first caught the DJ bug at a birthday disco for her grandson. From that moment she knew she wanted to spend her evenings behind the decks. She then set about learning how to DJ and even started performing sets where she mixes techno with the likes of Queen and the Rolling Stones… And amazingly she has become a hit in France where – appearing under the name Mamy Rock – she has performed at nightclubs from Cannes to Paris. Speaking of her new found career Ruth said: “I’d rather sign a contract with a record company than to sign up for the nursing home.”
Get in touch here if you’re looking for your perfect DJ. I can’t promise you ‘Mamy Rock’, although I do have new respect for 69 year olds!

As you can read from previous posts last Saturday I was the wedding DJ for Grace and Mike Hughes in Leamington. I’ve waxed lyrical about the bash already but here’s a little video for you. Bear in mind that it’s no pro job and a little shakey but it’s good fun! Enjoy…
I’d be delighted to supply your wedding entertainment. Click here to get in touch!

As I mentioned on my afternoon show on Heart 100.7 the other day, Daniel Powter’s 2005 hit ‘Bad Day’ has been named the biggest one-hit wonder of the decade! The track came first in the list compiled by Billboard.
So how did they work this out? Simples. The acts and songs were ranked by how high their hit single climbed on the Hot 100 compared to how far down the tally their subsequent highest-charting effort peaked.
So, the top ten one-hit wonder singles are:
1. Daniel Powter: ‘Bad Day’
2. Terror Squad: ‘Lean Back’
3. Crazy Town: ‘Butterfly’
4. MIMS: ‘This Is Why I’m Hot’
5. D4L: ‘Laffy Taffy’
6. James Blunt: ‘You’re Beautiful’
7. Gnarls Barkley: ‘Crazy’
8. Blu Cantrell: ‘Hit ‘Em Up Style (Oops!)’
9. Bo Bice: ‘Inside Your Heaven’
10. Dream: ‘He Loves You Not’.
I’ll confess to 7/10 (which is hardly suprising as I am a DJ after all) but I won’t say WHICH ones. No, no, no… ;o)

A very Happy New Year to you and I hope that 2010 brings you everything you desire.
What a hectic few weeks it’s been and I apologise for not blogging sooner but it’s been a maelstrom of Christmas parties, seasonal celebrations and Auld Lang Syne singing. I’ve entertained at the amazing Rock With Laughter aftershow parties, seen the New Year in with Eventertaining at Middleton Hall and DJ’ed at a host of drunken Xmas do’s. All good fun if not a little tiring. I have some great pics that will be on the blog and facebook soon so please check back later in the week.
So January is a little quieter and although I’m back on air 5 days a week from today, it’ll be nice to reacquint myself with my gym this week. The Christmas Pudding has taken it’s toll I’m about half a stone on. D’oh. It’ll soon be off though. In fact I’m just about to have an iTunes tidy up and make a brand new ‘gym playlist’. Any suggestions for a good workout tune?! Go on, I’m forever playing songs for everyone else so you help me out here… ;o)
